School Habits:

Griff is very smart and does well in school.  He isn’t always the first to raise his hand in class due to his introverted personality but still manages very nice grades.

Personality:

Likes: Griff loves to crack jokes.  Even though he is very shy, if he finds an opportunity to say something witty, he will. People are often surprised when they hear him pipe up with something funny and when they turn to look back, he is already walking away.Besides making people laugh, Griff  loves photography.  He can always be spotted with some kind of camera around his neck. His pictures are usually somewhat haunting and viewers may be left somewhat uncomfortable.  His pictures are like a small glimpse into his psyche.

Dislikes: Something that Griff really hates are “popular” people.  Or more so the labels that they seem to always place on people. After being tormented most of his life, Griff can’t stand the girls that prance around like they own the place and the guys that act like they are superior to everyone. He just doesn’t understand popularity and labels and has already made up his mind that he would rather be loser the rest of his life than change for the people who always seem to be pretending.

Background:

Griff has always been a little odd.  He laughed at things that weren’t really funny and would take some things a little too seriously.  Throughout Elementary and Middle school, Griff was tormented by his classmates, because he has two moms.  The kids used to tease him and call him all kinds of names, some names that didn’t even make sense like “gay” or “test tube baby”.  Griff tried not to let it get to him but it definitely did. His freshman year of high school Griff finally stood up for himself.  A childhood tormentor began to tease him once more during a Math class.  Anger rose up in him and all the feelings from his childhood bubbled to the surface and he unleashed a verbal assault like no other. The whole class was silent and he was immediately sent outside. When his teacher talked to him in the hall she whispered that she was proud of him for finally standing up, then escorted him to the principal.  Everyone looked at him differently from that day on but he was still the quiet kid.  Griff hopes that studying on Godspeed for his Upper Education might bring him out of his shell and he will hopefully make some new friends.

Griff is one of the students on Godspeed who lives in the care center.  He doesn’t have any extreme problems but does suffer from night terrors.  They don’t happen super often, but enough that it was settled he should reside where nurses will be to help him if one does occur. On occasion they are severe and even frighten the nurses.

Relations:

Malachy Dawson- Griff doesn’t really know Malachy at all.  They just happened to be in the same art course and sit at the same desk.

School Habits:

Ryan hates school.  It is amazing she has lasted three years aboard Godspeed.  She is smart in that way, always only doing enough to get by without being in trouble. It wouldn’t be strange to find her hiding out in the gym or by the pond while class is in session.  She isn’t a fan of showing up on time, if at all.

Personality:

Likes: Although she may come off as gruff to some, Ryan really loves to laugh.  Her laugh is unmistakable too.  The way she scrunches her face and giggles is similar to that of a little school girl. Ryan also loves to party.  If there is even the slightest chance of a party erupting in a dorm Ryan will be there.  In fact, she is the starter of most of them.  Ryan is no stranger to the Dean of Godspeed scolding her for starting “Inappropriate Impromptu Gatherings”.

Dislikes: There is nothing Ryan hates more than rules.  They were made to be broken right? Even though she hates them, certain ones she still needs to follow because deep down she would never be able to stand being sent back to Centauri-Earth and disappointing her parents.

Another one of Ryan’s pet peeves is people who are not upfront.  Ryan would rather someone come up to her face and tell her they hate her then hear it from someone else.  She is a very straight forward and honest person herself so this is probably where this pet peeve comes from. If you don’t want to hear the truth don’t ask Ryan because she will tell you.

Background:

Ryan was sent aboard  Godspeed by her parents three years ago when the program was brand new. She and her parents were some of the elect who were cryogenically frozen and brought to Centauri-Earth on Godspeed’s original mission. Unfortunately for her parents, Ryan brought nothing but trouble to Centauri-Earth.  She was always looking for some alcohol to drink or a fight to get into. The breaking point came when Ryan got into a drunken fight with one of Centauri-Earth’s leaders daughter. Ryan managed to give the girl a black eye and broken wrist.Unable to deal with their daughter, Ryan’s parents sent her aboard Godspeed with the hopes their little girl would get her act to together and maybe even learn something before she came back to Centauri-Earth.

As much as Ryan would love to give them the bird and leave, she has nothing else.  The rest of her family was on Sol-Earth and have long since passed.  She hates to admit it, but she loves her parents and really doesn’t want to disappoint them even though she already has to a certain extent.  She sets her self up for failure in fear of trying and failing.  Ryan is not an easy person to get close to.

School Habits:

Sammy has dyslexia which has caused school to be a struggle.  She manages but has never been as intelligent as her brothers.  It is a lot harder for her to do well so she becomes easily discouraged.  Sammy’s grades are below average but not bad enough to be kicked off of Godspeed.

Personality:

Likes: Sammy loves being people and being social.  She is the girl who always gets yelled at for talking in class and the one who has everyone’s contact information. Sometimes her friends don’t want to be rude but they just want her to shut up! She is extremely sweet but can be a bit too much for some.  If you ever need information on anyone, you can bet Sammy has it.  Even though she is only a freshman, she still seems to know everything about everyone and has mostly older friends.  Sammy also loves partying which causes grief for her brother Allan who is a bit overprotective.

Dislikes: Sammy is extremely squeamish.  Even the most simple things gross her out.  She absolutely hates bugs and snakes and any kind of animal that is not cute. She also freaks out when anyone gets hurt and has been known to pass out at the sight of any blood, even her own.  She doesn’t do any of these things for dramatics or to get attention, she just really has a weak stomach and gets disgusted easily.

Background:

Sammy comes from a privileged family Centauri-Earth and has a twin brother and older step-brother. Growing up, Sammy and her twin Luke did everything together.  They had their joint parties, were in the same classes and even a strange phase of dressing similar.  As they got older though, the two drifted apart. Luke looked up to their step-brother Allan more and more and Sammy quickly found a close group of friends at school.She is easily the most outgoing of her siblings, never turning down a dare and going to every party she is or isn’t invited too.

The academic part of school has always been hard for Sammy.  She has dyslexia so it would naturally be hard for anyone in her place but it is made worse that both her brothers are crazy smart. She used to try to keep up with them when she was younger but quickly learned that she simply couldn’t.  This is part of the reason she is so outgoing.  Rather than focusing on the academic part of school, Sammy decided to focus on the social aspect. Not only is she popular, but she is nice.  Everyone loves Sammy, how could you not?

Relations:

Allan Webster- Sammy’s oldest step brother is fiercely protective of her.  She likes that he cares about her so much for the most part but it can get annoying when he deters all the boys from even looking at her.  She does occasionally feed off of her older brother’s popularity and sneak her way into his friend’s parties.

Lucas Webster- Sammy’s twin brother.  Sammy loves him with all her heart and would do anything for him but they have grown apart due to their differing interests.  Sammy misses her brother but is so involved with other friends and activities that she doesn’t dwell on their relationship.

School Habits:

Luke is smart.  Really smart.  So much so that he just skipped his freshman and sophmore years.  He and his twin Sammy are the same age and will both be starting their first year of classes on Godspeed except Luke will be taking classes that are advanced for even a junior. His family, and older brother especially, couldn’t be more proud of him.

Personality:

Likes: Luke loves studying and memorizing useless facts. If knowing trivia was a job, he would be rich.  Luke also reads in-depth about the things he likes.  Which leads to complicated answers for simple questions.  Most people don’t bother asking him questions because of this. His teachers sometimes attempt to refrain from calling on him in class which can be hard when he’s the only one with a raised hand.

Dislikes: Luke can’t stand ignorant people.  They walk around with entitlement and pretend they know everything when in reality, they know nothing!  If you can’t be bothered to research what you are talking about then why even bother talking about it? Aside from this pet peeve of his, Luke is a really nice kid and if you can distract him from his books long enough, he is very interesting to talk to.

Background:

Luke comes from a wealthy Centauri-Earth family.  Growing up, there was never really anything that he or his siblings wanted because they had everything.  There was always one thing that Luke wanted that was not for sale, knowledge. When he was young he didn’t realize its importance.  But now that he is older, he sees how knowing how things work and being able to explain things to other people can make or break you in life.  This is probably one of the main reasons he loves spending time with his older brother Allan.  They both share that love of knowing things. His sister was never excited about books and learning like Luke was and this was a main reason for them growing apart.  He feels bad about not spending time with his sister but then again she has all those friends.  How would he even get quality time?

As happy as Luke is spending time in the library surrounded by books, he does have a secret desire to make more friends.  He just really isn’t sure how to go about it considering he’s never really had any.  Sammie has always been his best friend.

Relations:

Allan Webster- Luke wants to be just like Allan.  He admires him with every fiber of his being and loves it when he spends time with him.  Lucas couldn’t ask for a better older brother, even if they don’t have the same father.

Samantha Webster- A goal of Luke’s this year is to try and spend time with his sister.  If only he could get her away from her friends for awhile.  Luke is uncertain if she even wants to spend with him so every time he makes an effort, he backs down from fear of rejection.  It’s strange because Luke is a confident person.  Deep down he just doesn’t want to be rejected by someone he loves so much.
